Mumbai Indians acquire Tara Norris in WPL trade deal

Mumbai Indians have acquired USA fast-bowler Tara Norris from UP Warriorz in an all-cash trade deal worth ₹10 lakh. This transaction marks the first time a player has been signed via a trade deal in Women's Premier League (WPL) history.

Norris, who previously played for Delhi Capitals in the inaugural 2023 season, joins the Mumbai-based franchise ahead of the WPL 2027 player auction. With this move, Mumbai Indians have filled their overseas quota before the upcoming auction in Kochi.

An international player for the USA, Norris has taken 21 wickets in 17 Women's T20Is. Her career includes appearances in The Hundred for MI London and the Women's Big Bash League.
