Mumbai Indians appoint Zubin Bharucha as Director of Performance

Mumbai Indians have appointed Zubin Bharucha as their new Director of Performance. The former first-class cricketer and experienced IPL official will work alongside head coach Mahela Jayawardene and assistant coach Paras Mhambrey to coordinate with the coaching staff and help players meet performance targets.

Bharucha brings extensive experience to the franchise, having held leadership roles with the Rajasthan Royals since the inaugural IPL season in 2008, as well as a stint with the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). During his tenure at Rajasthan Royals, he was noted for his role in developing young talent such as Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The appointment follows a difficult period for the five-time IPL champions, who finished second from the bottom in their most recent season. Bharucha is expected to work with Indian players during the off-season and is currently touring South Africa with a group of young Mumbai Indians players.
