Mumbai Indians overhaul coaching staff ahead of IPL 2027
Mumbai Indians have announced a major restructuring of their coaching staff in preparation for the IPL 2027 season. Following the recent appointment of Kieron Pollard as head coach to replace Mahela Jayawardene, the franchise has parted ways with several veteran staff members, including bowling coaches Lasith Malinga and Paras Mhambrey, and fielding coach Carl Hopkinson.
To complete the new technical team, the franchise has appointed Robin Uthappa as batting coach and Mitchell McClenaghan as bowling coach. The new setup also includes T. Dilip as fielding coach and Dhawal Kulkarni as development bowling coach. Many of the new appointees, including Pollard, Uthappa, and McClenaghan, have previous history with the Mumbai Indians franchise.
