Mumbai Local Trains Halted by Snake Rumor and Track Intruder, Causing Delays

A rumor that a snake was present in the ladies' coach of a Mumbai local train prompted passengers to pull the alarm chain, stopping the train near Nahur for about 12 minutes. Railway officials inspected the coach and the surrounding area but found no snake, and the service resumed without injuries.

In a separate incident, a person stood on the tracks between Vasai and Nalasopara, allegedly with suicidal intent. The train was stopped, staff and security personnel attempted to persuade the individual to move, and after a prolonged effort the person was safely removed. The episode was captured on video and spread online, and Western Railway temporarily suspended services on the affected route, causing further delays for commuters.
