Mumbai luxury hotel flagged for hygiene lapse by prominent cardiologist
Dr. Ashok Seth, Chairman of the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, has reported a significant hygiene failure at the JW Marriott in Sahar, Mumbai. During a dinner at the hotel's Romano restaurant on a Saturday night, Seth discovered a live baby cockroach on his dining table.
Following the incident, Seth shared his experience on the social media platform X, stating that the unsanitary encounter ruined his appetite and forced his party to abandon their meal and leave the restaurant. He tagged the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the hotel management, and Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, expressing hope that regulators would investigate the matter.
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has been actively conducting inspections across various food establishments, including hotels and restaurants, to enforce food safety laws and address violations.
