Tiger Shroff firing investigation expands as 11 suspects are detained

The investigation into the October 18 shooting attempt on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area has expanded, with authorities now detaining or arresting 11 individuals. The Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating the incident as an extortion attempt orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to create terror and demand money.

Recent developments include the detention of a suspect in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, who allegedly provided logistical and financial support to the syndicate. Investigators also recovered two pistols and ten live cartridges from a hideout in Surat, Gujarat, which are undergoing forensic examination.

Police reports indicate the suspects may have initially targeted actor Salman Khan but shifted their focus to Shroff after observing his lack of security via social media. The investigation has also uncovered that the shooters practiced firing in the Aarey Colony forests and experienced a weapon misfire in an Andheri hotel room prior to the attack.

While an individual named Anil Pandit has claimed responsibility via audio recordings, police have not yet verified these claims. The suspects face charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
