Mumbai University postpones exams amid heavy monsoon rains

Heavy monsoon rainfall and an orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department prompted the University of Mumbai to postpone all examinations scheduled for 6 July 2026. The university announced the delay on X, citing safety concerns for students. A revised exam timetable will be posted on the institution’s website later.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation also closed all government, municipal and private schools and colleges in the city, urging residents to stay indoors unless necessary. The weather has caused widespread waterlogging and disrupted transport across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
