Mumbai wedding guests hospitalized after suspected food poisoning
At least 31 people, including the bride and groom, have been hospitalized following suspected food poisoning at a wedding ceremony in Mumbai. The event took place on November 1 at the Nalanda Buddha Vihar Hall in the Nahur West area, with approximately 400 to 500 guests in attendance.
Officials report that between 70 and 100 guests who consumed food during the final round of the meal began experiencing symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea later that evening. Patients have been admitted to several facilities, including MT Agarwal Hospital in Mulund, Kamgar Hospital, and a hospital in Vikhroli. All affected individuals, including children, are reported to be in stable condition.
A relative of the groom has alleged that the catering staff is responsible for the incident, noting that symptoms began appearing after guests returned home. Local authorities and the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration have been urged to investigate the matter.
