MUNA member Naomi McPherson to miss tour dates due to family illness

Indie pop trio MUNA announced that member Naomi McPherson will miss the initial dates of the ‘Gets So Hot’ North American tour to care for their mother, Harriet, who is battling terminal cancer.

The band stated that Harriet’s condition has escalated in severity, and her passing is expected to coincide with the start of the tour. McPherson will remain at home to support their family and manage affairs following their mother’s death. While the tour is set to begin in late September, McPherson is expected to miss performances in cities including Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, Nashville, and Atlanta.

To ensure the tour proceeds as planned, the group will continue with scheduled shows using substitute musician Lou Roy. McPherson is currently slated to rejoin the band for a performance in Philadelphia on September 25, though the group noted they will provide updates if this timeline changes.
