MUNA tour bus catches fire on California freeway
The tour bus for indie pop band MUNA caught fire on Monday morning while traveling southbound on Interstate 5 in Burbank, California. The incident occurred around 8:20 a.m. near the Buena Vista Street off-ramp as the group was traveling from a performance at Stanford’s Frost Amphitheater.
According to reports, the driver was initially unaware that the rear of the bus was on fire. Once the flames were discovered, the vehicle was pulled over, allowing all passengers to evacuate safely. The Burbank Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze, which caused heavy damage to the rear of the bus.
MUNA confirmed the incident on Instagram, stating that while many personal belongings were lost in the fire, all members are safe. The band is currently on their ‘Gets So Hot Tour’ and is scheduled to perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado on Wednesday, October 21, followed by a show at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.
