Munafri Arifuddin outlines Makassar Smart City strategy

Makassar Mayor Munafri Arifuddin, also known as Appi, presented his 'Sapta MULIA' development strategy during an academic orientation for the Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri (IPDN) in Gowa. The strategy focuses on transforming Makassar into a smart city by utilizing digital technology, strengthening basic services, improving public welfare, and driving urban economic growth.

Arifuddin emphasized that while Makassar serves as a strategic gateway to eastern Indonesia, his goal is to evolve the city into a major national hub. He reported that Makassar's economic growth has reached 7.04 percent, with a Human Development Index of 85.66 and a poverty rate of 4.24 percent. The mayor noted that the city relies on trade, services, connectivity, and human resource quality to sustain its economy.
