Munakata City partners with Koikeya and Sanix for sea conservation

Munakata City, Koikeya, and Sanix Resource Development Group will collaborate on the ‘Save the Sea’ initiative at Chishima Island in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on November 7, 2026.

The project focuses on collecting marine plastic waste from coastlines and converting it into resources through upcycling and recycling. As part of the event, limited-edition keychains modeled after Koikeya’s ‘Three Porinkies’ character, Paul, will be distributed to participants. These items are created using marine debris collected during previous years' activities.

Approximately 200 participants, including local residents and volunteers, are expected to join the coastal cleanup to promote environmental conservation and protect the local marine ecosystem.
