Muneeba Ali leaves Asian Games due to family illness

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali has departed the Asian Games to return home due to her mother's illness. As a senior player with over 3,000 combined runs in T20Is and ODIs, her absence is a significant loss for the squad.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is not expected to name a replacement for Ali due to logistical challenges and time constraints within the tournament schedule. Gull Feroza is expected to continue wicketkeeping duties in her absence. Feroza, who previously played as a middle-order batter during the Asia Cup, has also taken on opening batting responsibilities.

Pakistan recently secured a place in the semifinals after a narrow, rain-shortened victory against Thailand. Captain Fatima Sana contributed with both wickets and a 21-run knock in the match, which was reduced to 11 overs per side.
