The Mungari Administrative Post in the Guro District of Manica Province has been connected to Mozambique's National Electricity Grid (REN). The project, completed on September 20, 2026, is expected to benefit approximately 1,000 new customers in its first phase.

Financed by the Government of Mozambique with an investment of approximately 100 million Meticais, the infrastructure works included the construction of 40 kilometers of 33 kV medium voltage lines, 10 kilometers of low voltage network, and the installation of 150 public streetlights. This expansion aims to improve local lighting and community security.

With this connection, five of the ten planned Administrative Posts in Manica Province are now linked to the REN as part of a 2025–2029 development plan. Nationally, 362 out of 419 Administrative Posts are now powered by the main grid or alternative sources provided by the Energy Fund (FUNAE), leaving 57 remaining to be electrified. This initiative is part of a broader national strategy by Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) to achieve universal electricity access by 2030.
