Lufthansa Group announces major route expansion for 2027

The Lufthansa Group has unveiled its most significant flight program expansion since the 2020 pandemic. For the summer 2027 season, the group's airlines—including Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Edelweiss, and ITA Airways—will introduce ten new long-haul routes and increase frequencies to high-demand destinations.

Key expansions include new direct connections to Columbus and Phoenix in the United States, Edmonton in Canada, and Caracas in Venezuela. In Asia, Lufthansa will add new services to Nagoya and Tokyo-Narita from Frankfurt, while SWISS will increase its frequency to Tokyo and maintain its connection to Bengaluru, India.

Other regional updates include SWISS adding Toulouse to its network from Zurich and increased capacities for various European and African destinations. The expansion focuses heavily on strengthening connectivity across the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
