Munich Airport vehicle collision strikes parked aircraft

A serious traffic accident occurred at Munich Airport on the morning of Saturday, September 19, when a vehicle owned by a cleaning company struck a parked passenger aircraft. Following the initial collision with the plane, which was parked outside of public areas, the vehicle also hit an uncrewed passenger boarding bridge.

Airport officials confirmed that neither the aircraft nor the boarding bridge were in use at the time of the incident, and no other individuals were endangered. The driver sustained severe injuries and was airlifted by helicopter to a clinic in Munich.

The Landshut Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered a technical traffic investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision. Authorities are currently considering the possibility that the driver may have experienced health issues prior to the accidents. The investigation is being conducted by the airport police station.
