Munich and Barcelona selected for 2028 and 2029 Champions League finals

UEFA has confirmed that the Munich Football Arena and Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou will host the 2028 and 2029 UEFA Champions League finals. The Allianz Arena in Munich is set to host the 2028 final, marking its third time hosting the event after previous finals in 2012 and 2025.

Barcelona will host the 2029 final at Camp Nou. This will be the first time the stadium has hosted the premier European club final in 30 years, with its previous hosting dates being in 1989 and 1999. While the Allianz Arena is currently match-ready, Camp Nou is undergoing a major redevelopment project that began in 2023. The stadium's capacity is currently capped at 62,000, but it is expected to eventually hold 105,000 fans upon completion, which is estimated for late 2027 or 2028.

Additionally, UEFA announced venues for other competitions. The 2028 and 2029 Women’s Champions League finals will be held at Parc Olympic Lyonnais and the National Stadium of Wales, respectively. The 2028 and 2029 Europa League finals are scheduled for the National Arena in Bucharest and the National Stadium in Belgrade.
