Germany bus accident kills two Filipino tourists near Munich
A tourist bus carrying approximately 33 to 35 Filipino nationals overturned on the A96 highway near Buchloe, Germany, on Sunday morning. The vehicle was traveling from Milan, Italy, to Munich to attend the Oktoberfest festival.
At least two people were killed in the accident, including a 27-year-old Filipino national residing in Italy and a 38-year-old or 58-year-old man. At least 17 to 19 passengers sustained injuries, with several being treated for serious wounds; however, authorities reported that those with life-threatening injuries have since stabilized.
The bus veered off the road and tumbled into a wooded area. German police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, and the driver is being investigated for potential negligent homicide. A Philippine government delegation is traveling to the site to assist the victims and their families.
