Munich Court Orders Travel Agency to Refund Lost Vacation Day
A German regional court ruled that a travel agency must partially refund a tourist who lost the first day of a 13‑day Antalya holiday after the agency shifted the outbound flight from an early 07:40 departure to a late 16:30 departure. The court awarded an additional €56.44, stating that the scheduled flight time is a decisive element of the service’s value. It rejected the claim for full compensation for the wasted vacation day, noting that only the first day was affected and the remainder of the trip proceeded as planned. The judgment also clarified that co‑travellers cannot automatically claim compensation on behalf of each other; each participant must pursue claims individually. The decision is not yet final.
