Munich Re to acquire cyber insurtech At-Bay for $575 million

Munich Re has agreed to acquire the US-based cyber insurtech At-Bay for an enterprise value of $575 million. The acquisition is intended to be integrated through Munich Re’s subsidiary, HSB, with the transaction expected to close in the first quarter of 2027. The move aims to strengthen the reinsurer's position within the cyber insurance market, specifically targeting small and medium-sized enterprises.

In related corporate developments, Munich Re board member Michael Kerner purchased shares worth $298,500 on August 20. Additionally, the French asset manager Amundi has increased its stake in Munich Re, surpassing the 3 percent reporting threshold with a voting rights share of 3.01 percent as of August 13.
