Munich tram line 20 rerouted and Augsburg bus replacement plan amid construction disruptions
In Munich, tram line 20 was temporarily rerouted between the Stachus (Karlsplatz) and Ottostraße from July 28 to July 31 due to an overhead line fault near the Mathäser cinema and extensive construction on the northern Stachus tracks. The diversion forced the tram to use alternative stops and caused frequent conflicts with other tram lines (19, 21, 27, 28), leading to notable delays and service reductions.
Meanwhile, the Bavarian Regiobahn (BRB) issued a new summer‑holiday replacement bus timetable for the section between Augsburg‑Hochzoll and Dasing, effective 3 August, as construction at Friedberger Bahnhof continues. Two buses per hour will run the route, with adjusted departure times to match the altered train services. From 31 August to 14 September, RB13 trains will again operate between Augsburg Hauptbahnhof and Hochzoll, with minor minute‑level timetable tweaks.
