Municipal cinema and theatre programs educate students in Argentina and Mexico

In Ensenada, Mexico, the municipal government partnered with gas provider Camuzzi to stage the play “A prender el gas” for more than 500 primary‑school pupils. The performance, part of a fifteen‑year safety education campaign, aims to teach children how to prevent carbon‑monoxide poisoning and use household energy safely. The broader program reaches an average of 15,000 students each year.

In Concepción del Uruguay, Argentina, the municipal “Cine y Tu Escuela” initiative brings film screenings and related activities into schools. Covering topics such as bullying, discrimination, mental health, and responsible social‑media use, the program has involved over 1,200 students from more than 15 primary and secondary schools. Coordinator Aníbal Beorda said, “el cine se convierte en una poderosa herramienta educativa capaz de generar identificación, empatía y reflexión.”
