Municipal councils address Kupari I project and urban planning disputes

The Municipality of Župa Dubrovačka has scheduled its 14th Municipal Council session for August 21, 2026. Key agenda items include the report on the mayor's work, the 2026 semi-annual budget execution, and the selection of the Municipal Youth Council. A major focus is the ‘KUPARI I’ project, which requires council approval for an agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the municipality to resolve mutual relations for the project's realization. Other topics involve property management in Brašina and Čibača, and land acquisition for road reconstruction in Buići.

In Pantelej, the Municipal Assembly is set to meet on August 28 to discuss the fourth amendment to the General Regulation Plan for the Borska Street zone. This concerns a proposed railway bypass route. While urban planners suggest the new route, featuring a horseshoe-shaped overpass, minimizes impact, local residents continue to protest, citing environmental and safety risks. Residents have previously organized blockades and petitions, demanding the bypass be moved entirely outside the urban area.
