Municipalities implement new local laws and administrative reforms

Various municipal governments across Latin America are implementing new legislative measures and administrative processes.

In Pasto, Colombia, authorities have initiated extraordinary sessions to discuss budget modifications, tax relief, and transport infrastructure. Additionally, the city has authorized temporary extensions for bar operating hours during two weekends in September to compensate for upcoming election-related dry laws. Local authorities also conducted inspections in commercial areas to ensure compliance with public space and safety regulations.

In Argentina, the city of Paraná approved a new rental guarantee regime to assist families in accessing housing. Meanwhile, in Allen, a process to revoke the mandate of Mayor Marcelo Román has entered a new phase, with the City Council opening signature books despite the mayor's claims of procedural irregularities and invalid signatures. Other urban planning reforms are underway in the capital to update long-standing land-use regulations.

In Uruguay, the Florida Departmental Board addressed various local concerns ranging from road signaling and infrastructure to environmental waste management and social initiatives.
