Municipal councils in Divinópolis and Viçosa approve new local service regulations

The City Council of Divinópolis has approved a project to establish support points for delivery workers and ride-hailing drivers. These facilities are intended to provide basic amenities for professionals who spend long periods on the road, including shelter, seating, potable water, restrooms, internet access, and electrical outlets for charging devices.

The initiative, authored by Councilman Walmir Ribeiro, may be implemented by the government or through private partnerships. Plans are currently underway to install the first location near the Divinópolis Bus Terminal, with a second site under study.

In Viçosa, the City Council approved a bill to standardize the identification of public bus lines using numbers. The project requires that all lines have a primary number displayed prominently on the front, sides, and rear of vehicles, as well as at bus stops and in digital or physical information materials. Variations in routes will be identified by letters, such as ‘01A’. If sanctioned, the city and the transport concessionaire will have 180 days to complete the transition.
