Municipal councils in Sveta Marija and Požega approve budgets and local measures

Municipal councils in Sveta Marija and Požega have held sessions to address local budgets, demographic policies, and administrative regulations.

In Sveta Marija, the council approved semi-annual financial reports for 2026, showing a budget surplus of 122,357 euros. The council also adopted demographic measures to assist young families with housing and approved budget amendments to fund urban planning for the Sveta Marija – Sjever zone, medical equipment, and civil protection assets. Additionally, new procurement rules for simple acquisitions were established.

In Požega, the City Council approved the mayor's work report for the first half of 2026 and the semi-annual budget execution report. Key decisions included adjusting the communal fee rate to 0.96 euros per square meter annually, effective January 1, 2027, to account for rising construction and maintenance costs. The council also voted to return the consumption tax rate from 1 percent to 3 percent, restoring it to pre-pandemic levels starting in 2027.
