Municipal election candidates finalized in Cobourg and North Glengarry

Municipal election candidate lists have been finalized for the towns of Cobourg and North Glengarry in Ontario, Canada.

In Cobourg, three candidates are running for mayor: incumbent Lucas Cleveland, current deputy mayor Nicole Beatty, and Max LeMarchant. The mayoral winner will also serve on the Northumberland County council. The race for deputy mayor includes Adam Bureau and Johnny Percolides, while 12 candidates are competing for five at-large councillor positions. Additionally, four candidates are vying for two English public-school board trustee seats on the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

In North Glengarry, incumbent Mayor Jamie MacDonald faces four challengers: Cody Pierce, Michel Levert, Victor Brassard, and Josée Jeaurond. The deputy mayor race features Carma Williams, Julie Kaswurm, Elizabeth Caddell, and Krista Williams. Several councillor seats are also contested across various wards, including Ward 1, Ward 3, and Ward 4, while Michel Cuerrier and Jeff Manley have been acclaimed for their respective positions.
