Municipal election results announced in Campbell River and Prince Rupert

Municipal elections in British Columbia have yielded preliminary results for the cities of Campbell River and Prince Rupert.

In Campbell River, incumbent Kermit Dahl secured re-election as mayor. The unofficial results for the six council seats include incumbents Douglas Chapman, Ben Lanyon, and Susan Sinnott, alongside newly elected members Brittany Colville, Laird Ruehlen, Lucas Schuller, and Joëlle Samson. These results remain unofficial pending confirmation by Elections BC.

In Prince Rupert, Mayor Herb Pond was acclaimed. The city council will consist of four returning incumbents—Nick Adey, Wade Niesh, Teri Forster, and Barry Cunningham (who received the highest vote count)—and two newcomers, James Warburton and Jessica Sallenback. The new council is expected to address issues regarding infrastructure, housing affordability, and downtown revitalization.
