Municipal elections approach in Holešov and Přerov
Municipal elections in the Czech cities of Holešov and Přerov are approaching, with various political groups preparing their candidates and platforms.
In Holešov, 10 candidates have submitted their names for the municipal council. Historically, local issues and candidate experience have driven voter decisions. In the previous election, the ANO 2011 movement led with 25.77% of the vote, followed by Koalice Pro Holešov (22.75%) and Za Holešov (15.72%). The current administration, led by Mayor Milan Fritz of ANO 2011, formed a coalition with KDU-ČSL, Independents, and one member from the former winning coalition.
In Přerov, the ANO movement seeks to defend its leadership, having governed in coalition for two terms. In the last election, ANO secured over 33% of the vote. Mayor Petr Vrána, who is also running for the Senate, leads the ANO candidate list. The current administration focuses on completing major projects, including the reconstruction of the Strojar building into municipal housing and the revitalization of the Pasáž. The governing coalition previously included ODS and KDU-ČSL, later expanding to include Za prosperitu Přerova a jeho městských částí.
