Concacaf Central American Cup quarter-finals set after group stage

The quarter-finals of the Concacaf Central American Cup have been determined following the conclusion of the group stage.

In Group A, Luis Ángel Firpo of El Salvador secured advancement to the next round after a 1-1 draw against Guatemala's Xelajú MC. Despite an early goal by Xelajú's Diego Casas, Diego Ortez equalized for Firpo in the 21st minute. The result ensures Firpo's progression as runners-up of the group, while Xelajú MC is eliminated.

In Group B, Honduras' Marathón advanced to the quarter-finals with a decisive 3-0 victory over Nicaragua's Real Estelí. Goals from Brian Farioli, Javier Arriaga, and Yairo Moreno sealed the win.

With the group stages complete, the quarter-final matchups are set: Olimpia (Honduras) will face Luis Ángel Firpo (El Salvador); Club Sport Cartaginés will play Saprissa (Costa Rica); Marathón (Honduras) will face Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (Costa Rica); and Alianza (El Salvador) will face Motagua (Honduras). Honduras maintains a strong presence in the tournament with three clubs remaining in the competition.
