Municipal Government Revitalizes Historic El Palomar Park in Chihuahua
The Chihuahua municipal government, through the Dirección de Mantenimiento Urbano, has undertaken comprehensive work to restore the historic El Palomar Park. Over the past months the park’s extensive dry, brown‑tinted lawns have been replaced with well‑maintained green areas thanks to a functioning irrigation system, regular mowing, cleaning and general upkeep.
Additional upgrades include the installation of high‑quality LED street lighting to improve nighttime visibility and safety, the refurbishment of the park’s pavilion with new grass covering, and the repair of the park’s clock, which had been silent for more than two decades. The improvements aim to enhance the park’s role as a space for recreation, sports and family gatherings, reinforcing its cultural identity for the residents of Chihuahua.
