Campo Grande and other Mato Grosso do Sul municipalities launch health conferences, infrastructure upgrades and fiscal措施

Municipal authorities across Mato Grosso do Sul are holding a series of public‑health conferences. The Atibaia (São Paulo) Municipal Health plenary elected delegates for the state and national SUS conferences, while Paranaguá, Caicó, Araucária and Caracol conducted their own municipal health assemblies to discuss priorities, elect delegates and draft proposals for upcoming state and national health conferences.

In Campo Grande, Mayor Adriane Lopes announced the VIRA CG Infraestrutura program, allocating more than R$ 280 million to start works in the Jardim das Nações neighbourhood—pavement, drainage and cycle‑lane projects covering five kilometres of streets, with a total budget of R$ 10.3 million for the first phase. The city also extended its fiscal‑contingency decree through December 2026, keeping a six‑hour workday for municipal staff (excluding schools and essential services) to control expenditures.

The Campo Grande health department created a new Núcleo de Economia em Saúde (NES) to compile and publish the costs of all health‑sector units in a public dashboard, aiming to improve transparency and financial planning. Additionally, the municipal traffic agency Agetran issued a decree establishing new weight‑and‑time restrictions for heavy‑duty trucks in central city zones to improve traffic flow and safety.
