Pet Adoption Fairs Held in Atibaia and Mongaguá, Brazil

The municipality of Atibaia organized its 16th Pet Adoption Fair on 12 August 2026, running from 09:00 to 15:00 at the municipal headquarters in Jardim Morumbi. The event offered rescued dogs and cats, all vaccinated, dewormed, and eligible for free sterilisation and micro‑chip implantation. Prospective adopters had to be over 18, present a photo ID and proof of residence, and, for cats, bring a transport carrier.

A week earlier, on 1 August 2026, Mongaguá’s City Hall hosted a Pet Adoption Fair from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Unidade de Vigilância de Zoonoses on Avenida São Paulo, Vera Cruz. The fair displayed rescued dogs and cats that had received veterinary care. Adoption requirements mirrored Atibaia’s: applicants over 18 must show a photo ID and current address proof, bring a leash for dogs or a carrier for cats, and receive guidance on animal care, vaccination, and responsibilities.
