Municipal police launch crackdown on modified e-bikes

Municipal police and the civil motorization department have launched a campaign to crack down on modified e-bikes. The initiative aims to identify electric bicycles that have been altered to exceed legal speed limits.

Major Domenico Renga announced that inspections will go beyond checking documents and mandatory equipment. Authorities will set up specialized technical stations on streets to conduct real-time checks on vehicle characteristics and actual speeds. Some inspections will be conducted as surprise checks to intercept vehicles during normal circulation.
