Municipal police officer rescues woman from former partner in Giannitsa

An off-duty municipal police officer, Giorgos Gogkos, intervened to rescue a 25-year-old woman from her former partner in Giannitsa. The incident occurred on a central road when the 30-year-old man, who was under legal restrictions prohibiting him from approaching the woman, chased her with his vehicle.

Gogkos, a certified volunteer rescuer, witnessed the man forcibly placing the woman into his car. The officer intervened by entering the vehicle through the windows, immobilizing the man, and allowing the woman to escape. Following the intervention, Gogkos escorted the woman to the local police station to report the incident. The victim was reportedly in a state of shock following the encounter.
