Road safety education initiatives roll out in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina

In Dosquebradas, Colombia, the municipal Transit Secretariat held a traffic‑safety education day for more than 60 children and parents in the Molivento neighbourhood. The "Patrullas Escolares" programme taught basic road rules, signal recognition and safe crossing, and included the seizure of 52 motorcycles and two vehicles for licensing violations.

In Veracruz, Mexico, the death of a woman hit by a motorcyclist prompted local experts to call for stronger road‑safety culture and ongoing driving‑school courses, workshops and public‑awareness campaigns.

In Saltillo, Mexico, the municipal safety office launched the "Rueda por tu Vida" programme, bringing motorcycle‑safety workshops to high schools and universities. The curriculum covers traffic regulations, helmet standards, vehicle checks and safe‑driving practices.

In La Banda, Argentina, the municipal Department of Road Safety organized a one‑day exhibition, "Educación Vial para una Banda en Movimiento," at a robotics school, offering interactive activities to promote respect for traffic norms among children, youths and adults.

In Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, a free motorcycle‑training course was opened at the "Escuelita Vial," providing theory and practical sessions, and distributing more than 600 safety helmets donated by local motor‑clubs.
