Municipal schools in Arapongas and Carpina begin second‑semester classes

More than 11,000 students in Arapongas, Brazil, returned to municipal schools on Monday, marking the start of the second semester. The city’s 24 schools and 25 early‑education centers welcomed pupils after teachers completed a training program organized by the municipal education department. Education secretary Lino Batista highlighted efforts to improve literacy and expand facilities, while Mayor Rafael Cita underscored ongoing investments in uniforms, materials and staff development.

In Carpina, the municipal network and its Youth and Adult Education program also resumed classes on the same day. Schools Eliane Carneiro, Pio X and Brena Raysa reopened after structural upgrades, and the EJA classes began at the Ernesto Ribeiro building. Education secretary Rosejara Ramos reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to providing a safe, inclusive learning environment and continued modernization of school infrastructure.
