Municipal sports bodies hand out equipment to local football leagues in Argentina and Chile
In Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, the municipal government led by Mayor Othar Macharashvili delivered sports materials to the 19 clubs of the Liga Norteña de Fútbol de los Barrios at the Juan XXII gymnasium. Macharashvili said the teams are “working together” and emphasized the municipality’s commitment to community sport, noting a new monthly scholarship agreement for the clubs.
In Calama, Chile, the Municipal Sports Corporation (CORMUDEP) provided jerseys, footballs, medals, training cones and other items to the Gendarmería’s Ojo de Opache Education and Work Center. Hugo Córdoba, the centre’s administrative head, expressed that the partnership will help “people in reintegration have an opportunity” through recreational activities.
Both deliveries aim to strengthen local sport participation and social inclusion.
