Municipal swimming pools in Aspe and Ponferrada report high summer usage

Municipal swimming pools in Aspe and Ponferrada have concluded their summer seasons with high usage rates.

In Aspe, the municipal pool recorded 28,056 uses during the 2026 season, making it the second-highest year on record since the facility opened in 2008. The total cumulative usage since its opening has reached 320,000. The season included various activities such as summer schools, swimming courses for children and adults, and aquagym.

In Ponferrada, the three municipal facilities—El Plantío, Flores del Sil, and Fuentesnuevas—recorded a combined 88,803 uses during June, July, and August. El Plantío saw the highest attendance with 40,404 users, followed by Fuentesnuevas with 21,169 and Flores del Sil with 17,435. Additionally, 672 students participated in swimming courses organized by the local sports department during July.
