Municipal tango celebrations in Las Termas and Trenque Lauquen

The municipality of Las Termas de Río Hondo honored Argentine singer Carlos Gardel with a tribute at the Museo Rincón de Athacama. The program included a film on Gardel’s life, performances by the municipal singing workshop “Sentires,” a family orchestra, tango dancers from Buenos Aires, and a talk by tango expert Néstor Di Paola. Municipal officials praised the event as a way to preserve Argentine musical identity.

In Trenque Lauquen, the municipal School of Music’s tango orchestra gave a concert at the Centro Cívico. Directed by Martín Larroudé, the ensemble performed classics such as “El choclo” and featured vocalists Roberto Maiza, Patricia Mola Alonso, Marcelo “Chino” Martín, Mariano Maya and Juan De Filpo. The concert highlighted the orchestra’s ongoing work since its 2018 foundation to promote and valorise tango in the community.
