Local governments address urban planning and public services

Various local governments across Spain and Argentina are addressing urban planning, infrastructure, and public service management.

In Catalonia, the local government expects the new Municipal Urban Planning Plan (POUM) to take effect this autumn. The plan aims to address housing shortages by constructing 2,800 new homes, including 1,552 protected units, while also facilitating economic activity in industrial zones. However, the development of the Calderí sector remains a point of contention between governing partners.

In Argentina, Councilor Alejandra Chena has expressed that transferring water and sewage services to ASSA could be a viable solution to current municipal system failures, though she emphasized the need for dialogue and a thorough review of the project's conditions.

Other regional developments include the approval of a parking expansion project in Plasencia, Spain, following years of legal delays, and political debates in León regarding the professional categorization of school monitors and the management of municipal services.
