Municipal ward reservation lotteries completed in Alwar and Jhunjhunu

Reservation lottery processes for municipal elections have been completed in Alwar and Jhunjhunu.

In Alwar, the reservation lottery for all 65 municipal corporation wards is finished. The results show 13 wards reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and 12 wards for Scheduled Castes (SC). Additionally, 25 wards have been designated as open, allowing candidates from any category to contest. This shift in reservation status is expected to alter existing political equations and influence candidate selection for major parties.

In Jhunjhunu, the lottery process for 19 urban bodies has concluded. Out of 359 wards, 180 have been reserved for women, and 7 wards have been reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). The remaining wards are open for general category candidates. These developments are expected to intensify local political activities as candidates assess the new reservation statuses.
