Municipal waste services adjust schedules for holiday observances
Municipal waste management companies in Ambato, Ecuador, and Oruro, Bolivia, are implementing special measures to manage solid waste during the upcoming holiday observances of Finados and Todos Santos.
In Ambato, the Empresa Pública Municipal para la Gestión Integral de Desechos Sólidos (EPM-GIDSA) will deploy personnel and units across urban and rural sectors. Adjustments to cleaning and collection schedules will be made to cover parks, avenues, and areas hosting cultural events such as the Sol de Noviembre programming. Additionally, an information stand will be available at the Shuyurco fair to promote waste classification and recycling.
In Oruro, the Empresa Municipal de Aseo Oruro (EMAO) has installed waste containers at the General Cemetery and the Chapicollo cemetery to facilitate disposal during cemetery visits. EMAO has also announced a suspension of residential waste collection on November 2, with services scheduled to resume on November 3.
