Municipal worker dies after high-voltage electrical shock in Ciudad Juárez

Francisco David O. R., a 46-year-old employee of the Municipal Public Lighting Directorate, has died following a high-voltage electrical accident in Ciudad Juárez. The incident occurred on Monday, October 26, 2026, while the worker was repairing a transformer and electrical wiring at the intersection of Plutarco Elías Calles Avenue and Insurgentes Street.

While operating from the basket of a municipal service vehicle, the worker suffered severe burns from chest to legs due to contact with the infrastructure. Despite being transported to the IMSS General Zone Hospital No. 2 for intensive care, medical officials confirmed his death on Wednesday due to the severity of the burns.
