Municipal Youth Programs Expand Services in Mexico and Argentina
The Instituto Municipal de la Juventud in Corregidora, Mexico, reported delivering 3,719 mental‑health services to local young people during the current administration. Offerings included 789 free psychological counseling sessions and 48 psycho‑educational interventions in schools, reaching 2,930 participants and covering topics such as anxiety, depression, suicide prevention and stress management.
In Olavarría, Argentina, the municipal government launched the “Desde el Barrio” youth centers as part of the Centros Juveniles program. The free workshops provide urban‑art and sport activities—including graffiti, freestyle rap and skateboarding—held at various community locations on a weekly schedule, aiming to foster participation, expression and inclusion for residents aged 14‑29.
