Municipalities announce new swimming programs and facility reopenings

Various municipalities are launching new aquatic programs and reopening facilities. In the Avis region, swimming lessons for children aged 5 to 12 are scheduled to begin on August 17, 2026. These classes, held across several locations including Alcórrego, Aldeia Velha, Avis, Benavila, Ervedal, Figueira e Barros, and Valongo, aim to teach and improve swimming techniques to ensure water safety.

In Doué-en-Anjou, the local swimming pool is set to reopen to the public on September 14 following several months of renovation work. The facility will offer a variety of activities, including aquabike, aquagym, leisure swimming, and baby swimming classes. Structured swimming courses for children will be available, ranging from basic learning to advanced levels such as Nat’Ados, which focuses on mastering all four strokes over 200 meters.
