Municipalities expand textile vocational training programs

Municipalities in Argentina and Ecuador are expanding vocational training programs in the textile sector to boost local employment and economic autonomy.

In Mar Chiquita, Argentina, the Municipal Textile Training School is launching in La Caleta. The program, which has nearly 100 enrollees, focuses on the industrial manufacturing of workwear, including trousers, jackets, and vests. Led by local textile entrepreneur Jorge Bruno, the course offers practical instruction on industrial machinery to prepare participants for high-demand labor markets.

In Guayaquil, Ecuador, the public company DASE EP recently graduated 156 participants from its ZUMAR Continuous Training Center in pattern making, cutting, and garment construction. Following this success, the agency has opened 90 new spots for a new module starting in September. These free technical programs aim to provide citizens with the skills necessary for professional growth and economic stability.
