World Tourism Day celebrated with diverse regional events in Portugal and Brazil

Various regions in Portugal and Brazil are hosting diverse events to commemorate World Tourism Day on September 27.

In Portugal, several municipalities are focusing on the intersection of technology and heritage. Oeiras and Cantanhede are highlighting the theme of “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” featuring interactive AI experiences, seminars on digital content, and discussions on how algorithms influence travel choices. Other Portuguese locations, including Covilhã, Vila Velha de Ródão, Seia, and Anadia, are offering programs centered on local gastronomy, nature trails, industrial history, and free museum entries to promote regional identity.

In Brazil, celebrations focus on cultural diversity and professional development. Sorocaba is hosting the 4th Nations Festival at Parque das Águas, featuring international artistic performances and global gastronomy. Meanwhile, Várzea Grande is providing free training courses and workshops aimed at tourism entrepreneurs, covering topics such as digital content production and credit opportunities for the sector.
