Municipalities implement rural support and housing programs

In Arteaga, Mayor Ana Karen Sánchez Flores has launched the ‘Jueves de Comisariados’ (Commissioners' Thursdays) program. This initiative aims to maintain direct communication with the rural sector by bringing municipal government officials directly to the various ejidos each week. During these sessions, the mayor and the director of Agricultural Development meet with ejidal boards to review pending issues and establish work agreements. The program focuses on supporting the agricultural community, which is vital to the region's economy through crops such as apples, forage oats, and corn.

In Arboleda, Mayor Mariluz Delgado Gaviria is leading a housing improvement program that benefits more than 800 households. The initiative provides essential materials to enhance the safety and functionality of homes, including supplies for roofs, floors, doors, and sanitary units. This social investment strategy is designed to improve living conditions and habitability for families across different sectors of the municipality.
