Municipalities in Argentina and Ecuador acquire equipment for infrastructure and agriculture
In Argentina, the municipality of Chivilcoy has received provincial authorization to acquire a motor grader, a compactor truck, and a loader for over 580 million pesos. The equipment is intended for rural roads and climate-related preventive tasks. The acquisition is being financed through Provincia Leasing, a public banking line that has assisted 104 municipalities since 2020.
In contrast, the municipality of 9 de Julio does not appear on recent lists of authorized operations, raising questions regarding its access to provincial credit or administrative status amid warnings of potential severe weather events.
In Ecuador, a joint budgetary effort between the Provincial Government, the Municipality of Pelileo, and the El Rosario Parish Government has resulted in the acquisition of a 3,000-liter water tanker. The 100,000-dollar investment aims to supply micro-reservoirs for 450 farmers involved in the Paramo Management Plan. This equipment will support strawberry and blackberry producers during periods of water scarcity.
